Hybrid Modular Screens
Hybrid modular screens are snap-in or pin style urethane modules with a wire screening surface.
These modules tend to last much longer than tensioned wire screens.
These screens fit on modular urethane decks to increase open area and efficiency, resulting in higher production
(as can be seen below)
In the Field
The image below shows a customer’s tensioned flexmat style screens that were blinding severely. The original decking was designed for modular urethane screens, so we used Hybrid ML-7 12″ x 48″ modules with H-Slots in order to take advantage of the flat deck. The “After” picture shows the screens after they had been rinsed, so obviously they appear cleaner. The customer was having to shut down and rinse off the “Before” screens about once an hour. The “After” screens only required being rinsed off once a day. The material would build up on top of the blue margins and if left unwashed daily the buildup would harden and continue to spread. Therefore, they were washed daily. The end result, though, was that these hybrid modules radically improved the customer’s production.
Types of Modular Screens
As a manufacturer of both woven wire screens and polyurethane screens, we can make any combination of hybrid screens we require. Examples of various combinations can be seen below. To increase open area, longer modules will have fewer borders, thus making them preferable. Hybrid modules can be custom designed to best fit a customer’s needs.
